Painting Christmas Bauble Cards
To begin, we observed how artists painted spherical shapes. We noticed a dark crescent shape and a light spot diagonally opposite.
The work of professional artists gave us ideas about how we might want our Christmas bauble card to look. There were lots of decisions to make. Landscape or portrait? Which colours should we select? Should we print the outline or not? How many baubles should we paint? Should we paint the baubles at the same height or varying heights?
Our first step was to try out our ideas on scrap paper. We practised printing, blending and adding cords. We observed and discussed the work of our peers. Then we folded our card and set to work!
When finished, some of us decided to sign and date our work just like professional artists!
