We enjoyed completing a circus of experiments to explore sound and discovered sound travels in waves through air, water and solid objects. If was fun making a telephone from plastic cups and string and investigating if it worked best slack or taut. We tapped bottles to find out if emptier or fuller bottles produced a higher or lower pitched sound when hit with a wooden spoon. Elastic band sound boxes were constructed and we listened to the clang of a spoon through the air and a solid. What a busy morning!
