BBC Micro:bit Playground Survey
Over the past two days we programmed our micro:bits in order to collect various types of data around the school grounds. On Monday we programmed the micro:bits to measure the temperature of two natural and two synthetic surfaces. Today the micro:bits were used to record animal and plant species.
The tasks involved calculating average temperatures and measuring for approximately 60 seconds. There was lots of chat about synthetic and natural materials and what biodiversity means.
We look forward to completing several more surveys very soon. All the data we collect at KPS will be forwarded to the Office for National Statistics who hope to learn more about school playgrounds all over the UK.
