Badminton Skills
P6/7 thoroughly enjoyed their first badminton training session. Nick, their very experienced racquet sports' coach, talked about three important skills when playing badminton - Agility, Balance and Co-ordination. This week the focus was on 'balance' so the children participated in fun activities to improve this skill area. The pupils also learnt about the two grips in badminton (front-hand and back-hand) and noticed how the thumb position changed as they alternated between the two. Finally the class was split into two groups to play some round-robin games, allowing each child to practise their back-hand grip. What a super session! Everyone is looking forward to Nick returning next week.
