Good morning everyone!
I hope you had lots of fun over the weekend. On Thursday last week did you do anything special to celebrate Captain Tom’s 100th Birthday? The boys and I made buns with hundreds and thousands on top. We also made rice krispie buns too. Yum Yum
Well boys and girls there is another birthday today…… Tom in our class is 5 today.

Mental Maths: Count forwards from a given number within 20
Put all the digit cards to 20 you had in your Learning Together Folder into a pack/plle. Pull out a card and count forwards from the number chosen to 20. Repeat a number of times.

Phonics: (yellow cover phonics booklet) Spelling words with the ‘oo’ sound
Use a highlighter/ crayon to highlight the ‘oo’ sound variations in the list of words. Then sort the list of words into the table under the 3 variations of the ’oo’ sound.
Today our 3 focus spelling words are: to you good
Divide a page or wipe board into 4 boxes and adult write the word in the first box. Follow the instructions below.

Mental Maths: Quick recall of doubles to 10+10 (this will help with our work on ½ of a number)

Fractions- Making links
- Butterfly wings are mirror images of each other. Therefore know they have the same number of spots on each wing etc.
Therefore if there are 3 spots on 1 wing there will be 3 on the other wing. This is why knowing our doubles is handy.
- We can also do the process in reverse-
If a butterfly has 4 spots altogether.
We know each wing must have the same number of spots.
I/2 the spots are on 1 wing and ½ on the other wing.
Can we use our doubles to help?
