Hello! I hope everyone is well and getting on ok?  I can not believe it is May already!  Time is going so quickly and I am still missing you all lots and lots.

Handwriting – Next page of booklet – pay attention to advice on bottom of page

Literacy - Phonics – scaffold text.  I’m Sure (sh sound)

Numeracy – Odd and Even.  Recap on idea that odds have an “Odd one out” think of “odd” socks.

Evens = everyone with a partner!  0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 etc are even.  1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 are odd. 

Try counting to 50 and stand up when the number is even and sit down when it is odd.

Take a handful of Lego blocks – count them.  Is it an odd or even number?  Repeat a few times.

Write the numbers out from 1-30.  Colour odd numbers blue and even numbers red.  Do you notice a pattern?  What is it?  Tell me via email pmiskelly105@c2kni.net.

Literacy – Conjunctions this is a word that joins two sentences together; e.g. because, although, while.

For example; two simple sentences; Holly was sick.  She ate too much ice-cream.  They can be joined to make a longer sentence; Holly was sick because she ate too much ice-cream.

Complete Box sheet with “He had to miss break” at top.

Cut out and match game.  Mix the sentences up and choose a conjunction to join two sentences together.

If you have no internet, then please write out 3-4 numbers on a whiteboard or paper.  Allow the child to identify even / odd.  Repeat a few times and maybe ask child to write out some numbers for you!
