Reading

Literacy - Phonics – scaffold text.  Read with your child. Highlight the words which contain the target sound (be careful as some may make a different sound – so say the words out loud)    The Zoo Keeper  (z sound)

Handwriting – First page of booklet – pay attention to advice on bottom of page

Numeracy – This week we will be looking at practical activities with money.  If you can – set up a shop at home.  Price items up to 50p.  Ask your child how much change they will get if they buy an item.  You can start off with one item and progress to two once they are confident with adding total then giving change.  E.g An apple costs 20p and a pear costs 15p, how much change?  20p + 15p = 35p    

Use a number line to show change 35p + 5p =40p    then 40p + 10p = 50p  so 15p change

Literacy – we had been looking at time connectives.  Children should use time connectives to write about their morning routine. (Use time connectives word mat for ideas) 2-3 lines in Literacy Book.

Numeracy – continue shop based change from 50p activities.
